How to resize your dock on the fly June 21, 2006

Re-size the dock by moving the cursor over the Dock's dividing bar until you get the cursor shape shown here:


Click and move the double-arrowed cursor up to enlarge the Dock, and down to shrink it.

Hold down the Alt (Option) key and the Dock will re-size in jumps, choosing optimal sizes for re-scaling (Powers of two).

Reposition the Dock to the right-hand or left-hand side of the screen. Shift grab the dividing bar and drag it to the left, right, or bottom of the screen and the Dock will jump to follow.

Click and hold (or Control-right click) to reveal the Dock's preference menu.
